Tom Brady, Gov. Charlie Baker get their heads shaved for charity

Brady proudly shared off his new 'do on Instagram, with the caption, "They call me Buzzy... Tom Buzzy", he wrote. It was an honor to join the fun and support @DanaFarber and all the great work they do! "You are absolutely incredible, with a heart of gold", one fan wrote. One other simply commented, "You always do good for others".

Granite Telecommunications pledged $5 million to the Institute if Brady and 1,000 others agreed to shave their heads for the cause, according to the Boston Globe's Mark Shanahan.

There aren't many athletes whose hair gets more attention than Tom Brady's.

Granite has raised almost $18 million for cancer research through the company's many fundraisers over the past four years.

The event, which raised $5.8 million, also drew Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, Boston Red Sox President Sam Kennedy, "Greater Boston" host Jim Braude and Greg Hill, host of the "Hill-Man Morning Show" on WAAF. Back in October, Galynn spoke about her son's support for her while she endured chemotherapy treatment.

"The way we all came together today to respond to the cancer epidemic speaks volumes to the character of our community", Rob Hale said.
