Flipkart Teases Samsung Galaxy S9's Launch in India Ahead of MWC 2018

The previous leaked renders of the device were not clear.

There is nothing left for imagination as nearly everything about the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have been leaked.

On its teaser page, Flipkart lists the biggest highlight of the Galaxy S9 series being the "reimagined camera".

Other key features of the new flagships include Exynos 9810 octa-core chipset in India, 64GB and 128GB expandable storage options, fingerprint sensor, IP68 certification, Iris scanner and face recognition features AKG-tuned stereos and Android Oreo out-of-the-box. Last year's Galaxy S8 didn't go on sale until three weeks after launch.

No one expects the Galaxy S9 handsets to be affordable, but some consumers have expressed concern that Samsung would be hiking the price for this model.

However, reports have claimed that the Galaxy S9 will have advanced 3D emoji function than compared to the iPhone X Animoji. That change is on the camera, with the Galaxy S9 featuring one camera on the back and the S9+ including the dual camera setup that everyone had been waiting for. For those phones who already updated to the new Oreo earlier this month, or who have Android 8.0 on Galaxy S8 duo, the file itself will weigh a little over 530 MB.

The company is also said to launch the Nokia 8 Sirocco (2018) smartphone, which will feature a 5.5-inch OLED display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, paired with 6GB RAM. It will feature a 6-inch screen along with a 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. But its uncertainty is imminent as Flipkart could also be one of Samsung's launch partners for the new flagships.

Samsung has slashed the price of its Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017) smartphones. This could very well be the starting point for both handsets, with more capacious storage costing more. Preorders for the Galaxy S9 may go live on February 28 in Korea, according to the report.

The Galaxy S9 variants are all set to make their debut after 3 days on Sunday night in Barcelona, a day before the MWC, where many other tech giants will be showcasing their innovative smartphones and other gadgets.
