Snapchat redesign petition gets response, but it could make people even angrier

"There is a general level of annoyance among users and many have made a decision to use a VPN app, or are using other risky apps or steps, to go back to the old Snapchat as that's how annoying this new update has become". A change that was reluctantly welcomed by some users while others started petitions to get the company to change the app back to the way it was prior to the update. Although we blame Snapchat for cloning Instagram, these GIFs in stories are only the best thing ever, so we don't exactly mind it so much.

Along with rolling out the GIF feature, Snapchat announced plans to add new tabs in the Friends and Discover screens. To add animated stickers in Snapchat, you need to update the app to the latest version. The Stickers will move, rotate, and scale with whatever you pinned it to.

Outside of GIFs, the Snapchat app will soon feature dedicated tabs in the Discover and Friends sections.

Snap has officially responded to a hugely popular Change.org petition calling for the company to walk back the recent redesign of Snapchat.

"The new update presumes you want to see the Snapchat stories that are trending but it's all reality stars and rubbish", Snapchat user Beth Fox told Sputnik. That was a particular point of contention among Snapchat's most passionate users.

However, Snap essentially goes on in its reply to say tough luck, echoing comments made by CEO Evan Spiegel last week. Along with the new design changes, the update will also include a new way to filter friends with active Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions.

"While the recent redesign of its flagship app could produce positive long-term benefits, the significant jump in negative app reviews since the redesign was pushed out a few weeks could result in a decline in users and user engagement, which could negatively impact financial results", wrote Citi's Mark May on Tuesday.
