Christopher Nolan will not be directing next James Bond movie

And now Christopher Nolan has addressed the never-ending rumours that he's going to be making the next Bond movie too.

However, it sounds like Nolan himself is ruling out the possibility of directing James Bond 25. That's likely had a knock-on effect on Christopher Nolan's own desire to direct 007, given he'd rather recruit an entirely new cast in order to pump some fresh blood into one of cinema's time-honored franchises. "I think every time they hire a new director I'm rumoured to be doing it", he continued. His pick was John Barry's 007 classic On Her Majesty's Secret Service soundtrack - and Nolan took the opportunity to clear things up about his connection to the franchise. They don't particularly need me. "I said to Barbara, "I would love to work with you and with Daniel, but I'm engaged", he told ScreenDaily.com last month (Jan18).

The film's score was penned by Nolan's long-time friend and collaborator, Hans Zimmer, whose music was also among the director's Desert Island Disc track listing.

Daniel Craig will be returning for one last James Bond adventure with the new film, that's due in November 2019.

"I love the character, I love the films, and I've been very inspired by the films as anyone who's seen my films will find embarrassingly obvious", he said.

"I think, for me, all the work I've done with Hans since, in some ways, is always trying to get back to the simple power of this cue". Among the other frontrunners for the job have included Blade Runner 2049's Denis Villeneuve (until he confirmed he wouldn't be directing either), and The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman.

The Dark Knight director is 100% up for Bond.
