Scribblenauts Showdown Will Feature Head-to-Head Minigames

Finally, a Sandbox mode "allows one or two players to solve objectives in eight new levels by summoning any object they can imagine and earn hidden Starites and achievements". A board game-style map will keep track of your progress in this new mode, so it's not over until it's over. Interactive Entertainment made it official.

It's been four years since we've seen or heard from the adorable Scribblenauts franchise, which lets you "scribble" the name of almost any item into the game to help you solve puzzles.

While the series was once fairly popular on the DS, recent years haven't been kind to Scribblenauts.

Scribblenauts Showdown, which is the fifth entry in the puzzle series, features two new party modes for up to four players.

Warner Bros. just officially announced Scribblenauts Showdown for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a 9th March release date.

Scribblenauts Showdown has been revealed as a genuine upcoming game in the Scribblenauts franchise and it's coming sooner than you think according to a press release from publisher Warner Bros.

The ESRB listing describes Scribblenauts Showdown as follows. Here, two players will go head-to-head across 25 different mini-games that will be randomly selected.

"Wordy" minigames allow players to access over 30,000 words in Scribblenauts' dictionary to use against their opponents, while "Speedy" minigames are based on who can solve challenges the fastest. It'll be available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's rated E for Everyone with Cartoon Violence and Crude Humor. During an eating-contest mini-game, players" character may vomit if they consume too much food without swallowing; a comical "gagging' sound effect is heard, as well as brightly-colored green vomit.
