A 15-year-old girl body with mutilated private parts was found in Haryana's Jind district.
The 20-year-old man is still missing. "Her lungs were ruptured, suggesting someone might have sat on her chest", said head of the hospital's forensic department Dr S K Dattarwal, according to a report in the Times of India.
A 15-year-old girl from the northern Indian state of Haryana died after she was raped and mutilated by at least four aggressors who ruptured her liver and lungs before drowning her.
She was the daughter of a tailor in a village in Kurukshetra.
While the Haryana Police authorities have constituted two SIP probes to look into this case, the girl's father, a tailor, who had complained about his missing daughter on January 10 had reportedly alleged that the Police did not take the case seriously which resulted in the death of his daughter. She left home to attend tuition classes, but never returned. "They might have tried to thrust some object into her vagina also".
As many as 250 policemen conducted a search around the spot where body was found but could not find any clue from the spot. The police, however, is trying to verify his age, the report added.More news: Hawkeyes rally from 20 down to win in overtime
Two special investigation teams led by senior officers have been set up to investigate the schoolgirl's rape, said the police in Jind.
Just hours after the grisly discovery, police in Panipat district on Saturday found the body of a 12-year-old girl in a pond.
Safidon (Jind) deputy SP Sunil Kumar said the police suspected a boy from the girl's village, though, no arrest has been made.
Rahul Sharma, superintendent of police, Panipat, told news agency PTI over the phone that two men who lived in her neighbourhood were arrested on Sunday for the crime. According to the police, the two accused confessed to committing necrophilia under the influence of alcohol.
The incident, which took place yesterday in an area near Pinjore, comes barely days after two minor Dalit girls were allegedly raped and killed in separate incidents in the state. "This was the work of more than one person who failed to sexually assault the victim while she was alive", Dr Dhattarwal said.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Khattar has assured that the culprit in the case would be nabbed soon.
