An offshoot brand of Huawei, Honor phones are often value buys with solid specs that dip below the top of the line, compared to Huawei's top models like the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The smartphone - exclusively available via Amazon India - is in fact the global variant of the Honor V10, which was launched in China in November. Last month, the company also launched the Honor 7X and Honor View 10 smartphones with FullView display and dual rear cameras. First shown off in early December and launched in India this week, the View 10 may have the best specs of a sub-$500 phone now available. Sorry, we're not exactly sure when the Honor View 10 will come to the USA, but it starts selling in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and India on January 8. The phone is available in two colour options - Midnight Black and Navy Blue.
The launch offer of Honor View 10 includes a flat Rs. 1,500 off when using ICICI credit cards to purchase. In addition to that there's no cost EMI offer and 90 GB Airtel 4G data free. No-cost EMIs starting Rs. 2,500 a month are also available. We are expecting Huawei to price the handset under Rs. 18,000 in the Indian market.
Honor View 10 gets a 5.99-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 2160 X 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.More news: Political parties welcome SC's decision to reconsider law criminalising homosexuality
The Honor View 10 has been confirmed to launch in the USA at some point although a specific time frame has not been announced as yet. On the back are 16MP color and 20MP monochrome cameras, and there's a 13MP front camera. The AI-powered Portrait mode for selfies is also being outed.
The View 10 also gets a bump above the Honor 7X in the camera department, with 20- and 16-megapixel rear cameras to go along with that 13-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. The smartphone is powered by company's in-house HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, which is present in Honor 9i, Huawei Enjoy 7s and Honor 7X among others. The Honor 9 Lite offers with either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage depending on the variant, both of which are expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The device runs on Huawei's EMUI 8.0 OS which is based on Android 8.0.
