Mann (pictured, left) and James W. White (right) are facing murder charges after they were arrested for the killings of a female couple and one of the women's two children.
White, 38, and Justin C. Mann, 24, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder. The victims were found in the basement of 158 Second Ave. on Tuesday by the apartment caretaker. Police said the manager was responding to a request to check the welfare of the residents.
Authorities say that one of the defendants knew one of the victims but did not provide a motive for the murders. The men were sent to Rensselaer County jail. Preliminary hearings for both will be held January 4th. Both men have criminal records and Mann was on parole.
Police in upstate NY have arrested two men in connection with the brutal murder of a lesbian couple and two children.

DeWolf previously declined to discuss details of the crime scene, but law enforcement sources told the Albany Times Union that the victims were bound and their throats were slit. "Nobody that's been involved in this case is going to ever forget this, I can tell you that". He thanked numerous agencies involved and the public for providing tips.
The men's arraignment on Saturday came after a caretaker happened upon the ghastly death scene of a family, massacred at their Troy home.
Abelove said their hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.
"It took weight off my shoulders and weight off my chest because we finally found somebody that found them and they can get off the street where we can have our kids to feel safer", said Khalif Coleman.
Hector said she met Myers' youngest child a few months ago and recalled how the 5-year-old played with and tried to feed her own 2-year-old daughter.
