England vs Australia, ODI: England's Ben Stokes replaced by Dawid Malan

He was provisionally named in England's squad, is awaiting a decision on whether he will be charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for his involvement in an altercation.

He was later picked for the five-match ODI series against Australia before being replaced by Dawid Malan.

Cumbrian Ben Stokes will be replaced by Dawid Malan in England's one-day worldwide squad to face Australia. The English all-rounder has been given the clearance to enter the IPL draft, though he was ruled out of the ODI squad for England's series against Australia.

"Ben Stokes will not travel with the group of players leaving the United Kingdom on January 2, pending CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) advice on the incident in Bristol in September".

The ECB added Monday that Stokes has been granted a "no objection certificate" for the lucrative IPL.

A year ago he was signed for a record fee of £1.7 million ($2.3million) by the Rising Pune Supergiants. Stokes could still be called up once a decision has been reached as to whether he is charged or cleared.

Malan, who is yet to play in ODIs, established himself in the Twenty20 debut in July with a 44-ball 78 against South Africa and has impressed during the ongoing Ashes series with a maiden century at the WACA.

England's squad for the Twenty 20 tri-series, starting on February 3 against Australia and New Zealand, will be confirmed next week, with the squad for the spring Test series against New Zealand announced after the fifth Ashes Test in Sydney, which gets underway on Thursday.
