ASUS ZenFone 4 receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

Asus has just announced that it has started the roll-out of Android 8.0 Oreo update for its newest flagship, the ZenFone 4. Recently, the Lenovo-owned company rolled out the Oreo update to Moto X4 Android One Edition. Users reported that the Android Oreo update comes with the latest Dec 2017 Android security patch with improvement in stability. Touted as the first Android One smartphone in the U.S., the Moto X4 was pre-loaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Also, as noted in the changelog, the update adds a new call screen to the Z2 Force. The Android 8.0 Oreo update also carries the picture in picture support and Google Play protection. You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update.

Along with all the Oreo goodies, the update also packs a new version of the default application launcher.

The update weighs 1.3GB and you need to have a minimum of 50% battery charge left and enough free storage space. The smartphone costs Rs 20,999 for the 3GB RAM variant and Rs 22,999 for the 4GB RAM variant. It features a 5.2 inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

The rear side features a dual camera mechanism comprising of 12MP (f/2.0 aperture) and 8MP (f/2.2 aperture) sensors. The phone also features a 16 megapixel front camera that is capable of taking clear selfies even in low light conditions.
