Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt reportedly circling Mad About You revival

The sitcom ran for seven seasons on NBC from 1992 to 1999 and won multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

- Almost two decades after its series finale aired, talks are on for a possible revival of NBC's hit show "Mad About You", according to multiple reports.

When asked about it during a press event ahead of Stranger Things season 2, Reiser - one of the show's stars and co-creators - said that "it's possible".

Television fans could be mad about "Mad About You" once more: A new report says the creative team behind the NBC sitcom is trying to stage a revival of the series. "For years, I would've said, 'Absolutely no".

"As my own kids are getting older, I think 'this is a very different point in life, ' " Reiser said back in October.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reiser and Hunt have had "informal" talks about starring as married couple Paul and Jamie Buchman in a revival series which would begin as their daughter Mabel, now 17, accepts a college offer.

However, he admitted he would be interested in reprising his role if there was public interest. At that time, he mentioned being open to an empty-nest plotline, noting, "It's like that moment when you get married. Like, oh, here's another point in life that we don't know what the heck is going to happen".

In the series closer, Mabel, who was named after her grandmother, played by Carol Burnett, was played by standup comic, actor and Jerry Seinfeld's all-too-perfect other half Janeane Garofalo.

The last episode in the original ran ended with a flash-forward 22 years in the future - a future in which Jamie and Paul are no longer together - so the writers have a job on their hands handling that.

"Our thinking at the time was, 'Let's make sure we never get tempted to come back".
