Dr. Evazan might not have the same legacy as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader in Star Wars canon, but he could be seen in the Mos Eisley Cantina in George Lucas' 1997 classic film.

Curtis worked as a character actor well into the 80s, also appearing in The Elephant Man, The Wildcats of St. Trinian's, and numerous TV shows.

'As horrific as he was on-camera, off-camera he was amusing, kind & a real gentleman. Thanks, Alf- you'll be missed. Mark Hamill reacted to the actor's death Tuesday by posting a tribute on Twitter.

Born in Stepney, London in 1930, Curtis began acting since 1973, when he made his debut on the "Bowler" television series.

That was Cornelius Evazan, the intimidating Cantina actor played b Curtis. I have been neighbours with him for ten years and often listened to the stories. "The bar scene in #StarWars remains one of the coolest sequences ever committed to film. You had the death sentence on twelve systems but you'll forever live on in our nightmares and our hearts", one fan wrote.

Lucasfilm's latest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi, is now screening in cinemas.

"His "I don't like you either" line was absolute perfection. Even STAR WARS itself ripped it off, attempting to top it on several times only to fall short of the original's ramshackle magic".

His death was announced on the Star Wars Comic Book website yesterday, although the cause has not been confirmed.
