Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have travel nightmare on LAX flight

The plane turned back Tuesday because a passenger on the flight had boarded the wrong aircraft.

The model, plus the other 150 passengers aboard the ANA direct flight headed to Tokyo, traveled a total of 8 hours and 20 minutes, just to end back up at LAX. She wondered on Twitter why the plane was turning around four hours into the 11-hour flight. "Why.why do we all gotta go back, I do not know", she tweeted Tuesday night.

The flight was scheduled to take off this morning, but passengers were not pleased.

Throughout her dozens of tweets, Teigen also asked how a person who apparently held a United ticket could have been permitted on the ANA flight to Tokyo. Our question is: did those checking him in, not realise this?

The pilot of Flight 175 chose to return to the originating airport as part of the airline's security procedures, ANA said in statements that apologized to passengers but supported the decision.

The 32-year-old model and her husband John Legend, 38, were halfway through their trip from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan when the plane was forced to turn around mid-flight due to an "unauthorized person" on board, according to ABC. Teigen continued her updates and they were eventually moved into a lounge with a TV.

After several hours and many more tweets, she told followers that she had finally boarded a new flight and was about to take off early Wednesday.

About six hours after the first flight landed, Ms Teigen reported boarding another plane. She said no charges were filed, but the investigation is ongoing. ANA is researching the situation now to determine how the passenger boarded the flight.

The airline, All Nippon Airways (ANA), said only that there had been a problem with a customer's "flight arrangement".

All Nippon Airways confirmed per NBC News that the passenger had boarded the wrong flight and, after informing the pilot, the flight was turned around.
