Winds have already strengthened to 20 miles per hour and they will gust to 30 miles per hour tomorrow. Afternoon highs warmed up nicely with southwesterly winds, climbing into the 60s. We'll stay partly cloudy.

Cold and dry for last minute shoppers and travelers today. This Christmas, temperatures and weather conditions are finally cold and clear! It won't be a major or disruptive storm, at least not for us as it will still be in its infancy and organizing stages as it passes overhead later tonight. Highs will reach the mid 50s. By New Year's Eve on Sunday and New Year's Day on Monday, highs will only be in the lower to middle 30s. I do think the rain will die down for our evening plans, but some isolated showers can not be ruled out.

Loconto said Mercer and Tazewell counties should receive an inch or two of snow.

Some cloud cover to start the day on Christmas. Winds will stay out of the north keeping it brisk.

Tonight, will be a great evening with our weather.

NEXT SNOW CHANCE: Our next possible snow chance comes Friday into Saturday morning. The highest temperatures of the day come early in the day, in the mid-30s. With temperatures in the mid 30's, precipitation that falls will likely be a rain/snow mix. Temperatures will gradually fall to the 50s and eventually 40s overnight with southwest winds around 10-15 miles per hour. As of now, it does look like 2018 will ring in with dry weather.
