Following extravaganza 2017 which made history in combat sports, with the MMA fighter stepping inside the square circle, there is reportedly another blockbuster fight in talks.

According to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, Pacquiao directly negotiating with McGregor would theoretically pose a problem with White, who has been blunt when addressing the matter of McGregor's UFC contract.

White was less than impressed when he heard the revelation. "It is OK with both of us", Pacquiao said. What TV channel is it on? "If that's true, I will be suing Manny Pacquiao and whoever's representing him. I'm assuming that's not true".

Pacquiao is now enjoying life as a politician in his home land.

Possible opponents for McGregor's first UFC fight since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight title at UFC 205 over a year ago include completing the trilogy fight vs Nate Diaz, as well as a unification fight against the interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson.

While McGregor has plenty of options in the boxing world - having been challenged by Pacquiao, Paulie Malignaggi, and even the retired Oscar De La Hoya - there is a widespread desire to see him back in the cage, where is career began.

Now, reports have come in that if McGregor does return to fighting on a competitive level, he will be taking on the legendary Filipino pugilist Manny Pacquiao.

Both were extremely hyped bouts, with McGregor vs. Mayweather dubbed the "Fight of the Century".

Pacquiao, who turns 39 later this month, lost his WBO welterweight title to Australian Jeff Horn in July. "He is not competitive with any fighter no matter how old that fighter is".

McGregor fought with the comebacking five division champion Floyd Mayweather, who won the contest with a tenth round TKO at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Tortious interference applies if a third party is aware of that but still tries to make a deal with McGregor anyways.
