A shooting at a New Mexico high school left two students and the suspect dead Thursday, authorities said as schools throughout the small town shut down for the day.
ABC affiliate KOAT, citing Aztec police, report that two people were shot - though their conditions were not specified - and that the suspect is dead.
Though the shooting at Aztec High School was confirmed by the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, there are still conflicting number of casualties.
The shooting comes a week before the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, Conn. that killed 26 people.

According to the Farmington Daily Times, neither the victims nor the shooter have been identified.
The school was placed on lockdown as everyone was evacuated.
