Bridge Constructor Portal will be released on December 20th on both Mac and Windows computers as well as mobile devices.
The teaser trailer shows it will be a puzzler set in another (vehicle-based) test chamber of the Aperture Science facility. In it, you'll solve puzzles that involve trucks crossing abyssal chasms, but unlike in other bridge building games such as the recently popular Poly Bridge, you'll be able to use portal technology.More news: Conflicting Reports Emerge About Subpoena for Deutsche Bank in Trump-Russia Investigation
Clockstone has spent the previous year working on the game that it says "will blend the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories". This will be a stand alone title and will release on PC, MacOS, Linux, mobile devices, and consoles. The game, unsurprisingly, is simply called Bridge Constructor Portal.
Attach the name Portal to anything and gamers sit up and a pay attention. "As the case may be... good luck!" Headup is handling publisher duties while ClockStone is the developer on the project. Valve doesn't seem particularly interested in making games like Portal any more, and series co-creator and head writer Erik Wolpaw left the company earlier this year.
The game also be available on console, but the idea of it coming to mobile platforms seems particularly painful to fans of more substantial gaming.
