While New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's hit on Buffalo Bills rookie Tre'Davious White has been nearly unanimously criticized and led to Gronkowski being suspended for one game, Patriots radio announcer and ex-QB Scott Zolak had a different take.
The one-game suspension Rob Gronkowski received Monday could have a major impact on the New England Patriots tight end's earnings. During and after the play, four 15-yard penalties were assessed, two for each team, and all of the personal foul and unnecessary roughness variety. Hyde and Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola were both called for unnecessary roughness for a separate altercation, and Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for his behavior toward officials.
The Bills criticized Gronkowski for what they considered a dirty hit.
With White on the ground, Gronkowski threw himself at White, appearing to injure him with a late hit.

Gronkowski said his frustration boiled over because of an earlier interference call on him while running a pass route, and the feeling that because of his size, he is often flagged for interference whenever he bumps another player on a pass route or a player deliberately holds on to him. I just want to apologize to Tre'Davious White. I'm not in the business of that, " said Gronkowski. "At that moment, it happened naturally through emotions and frustration". "I don't really believe in the type of shots like that". "It was just frustration". That pass wound up being intercepted by White. He ended the game with nine catches for 147 yards, but the Bills rookie clearly got under his skin on that play that ended in an interception.
Then Gronkowski added this: "I just don't understand why there wasn't a flag". And it's insane, like, what am I supposed to do? I mean, it's like, crazy. It was just frustration.
The NFL has made a point to improve their studies of head trauma's causes and effects and the league could make a strong, powerful statement by slapping Gronkowski with a suspension.More news: Airline Pilots Saw North Korean Missile's Re-Entry, Breakup
