LiAngelo Ball Is Leaving UCLA Without Having Played a Game

While TMZ has reported that LiAngelo is not yet officially withdrawn from the school, the basketball player is reportedly remaining home and will not be going back to the school. ESPN has since confirmed the story with LaVar Ball.

It appears LiAngelo Ball will not return to the UCLA men's basketball team.

LiAngelo was a freshman and never actually played a game for the team. The trio created an global incident that eventually saw President Donald Trump, while visiting Beijing as part of a five-nation Asia tour, personally asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help resolve the case.

LiAngelo Ball was indefinitely suspended alongside teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill after they were accused last month of shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store next to their hotel in Hangzhou, China.

It's unclear what the future of LiAngelo Ball will be after leaving the UCLA Bruins, but a quote from LaVar Ball in a June interview with GQ might provide an indication.

"I'm not sitting back and waiting", LaVar Ball told ESPN. Currently, there's no telling how LiAngelo being pulled from the Bruins' program might affect LaMelo's commitment or if LaVar even wants to honor that commitment at this point.

"It's not a new policy, it's an existing policy", a Lakers spokesperson told ESPN. "Because if you've got three, only one, maybe two make it to the NBA", LaVar Ball said.
