Washington State interim athletic director John Johnson fully expects that Mike Leach will be on the sideline with the Cougars when they square off with Michigan State for the Holiday Bowl on December 28 in San Diego (6 p.m., FS1).

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Michigan State is the heavy favorite today, as the Spartans are getting odds of -19 points against Nebraska.

It doesn't seem likely that Michigan State's Mark Dantonio and Michigan's Jim Harbaugh will be exchanging Christmas cards this years.

Michigan State has looked dominant in recent games, winning their last five by at least 18 points to improve to 6-1 on the season.

Harbaugh, of course, is referring to the 2016 season in which the Spartans finished with a 3-9 record, including a loss to MI, and the numerous off-the-field problems MSU has had over the past year or so, including having multiple players kicked off the team.

The Nebraska starters were a combined 11-44 from the field as the Huskers shot just 27% despite hitting 10-22 from 3-point range while Michigan State was 47% overall but only 5-19 from long-range.

"Washington State is excited to be invited to the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl", said WSU Interim Director of Athletics John Johnson.

Washington State's lone Holiday Bowl victory came in 2003 when it defeated Texas, 28-20. The Cougars are 7-6 in bowl games all time. I am just focused on the Holiday Bowl game.
