On SNL, Trump's former national security adviser, played by Mikey Day in chains, implored the president (Alec Baldwin) to speak the truth "for the good of the country".

The cold open of "Saturday Night Live" focused on the latest developments in the Russian Federation investigation, as well as the sexual misconduct allegations against former "Today" anchor Matt Lauer.

Alec Baldwin returned to reprise his impersonation of President Donald Trump during Saturday Night Live's cold open to celebrate Christmas at the White House. Moffatt's Bush asked Baldwin's Trump, a reference to the infamous 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape that led to Bush's dismissal from the "Today" show in October 2016. "Mr. President: I came to warn you".

Flynn had a great life before the FBI started investigating, and Trump wishes someone had warned him about Flynn.

"You will be visited by three of them, here they are now", Flynn said.

"I meant someone American", Baldwin explained, referring to Trump's false narrative about former President Barack Obama having a fake birth certificate.

"Listen, we put a lot of work into you...and you're about to mess it all up", Bennett's Putin told him. "Can you believe I got fired for just listening to you?" Baldwin struggles to recognize the ghost and thinks it's Steve Bannon. The show also swiped at the latest big names to fall to accusations of sexual harassment, with Bush joking that "I'm looking pretty good in the NBC News division right now".

The December 2, 2017 episode was hosted by actress Saoirse Ronan.

The ghosts then appeared, first one being Alex Moffat as Billy Bush - the ghost of the past.

Then McKinnon's Hillary Clinton emerges, hidden under a black cloak before revealing herself. Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) is delighted as she talks about Trump's demise and says "lock him up!"

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to say this", she concludes.
