Edge for Android racks up over 500000 downloads

On Thursday, Microsoft launched the iOS version of its Edge mobile browser following a brief preview period.

To commemorate the release, Microsoft dropped a YouTube ad.

In October, we introduced Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android in preview, in response to your request to make Microsoft Edge work well with your phones. The app is meant to provide users with a smooth transition from their iPhone or iPad to their Windows 10 PC through its "continuous browsing experience", as per Apple Insider. This is a recurring theme for Microsoft's current consumer products. Microsoft Edge is designed for Windows 10 users to browse the web how they need to, wherever they are, without disrupting their flow.

Next up is a new dark theme that comes to the mobile browser after first showing up on its PC counterpart. On Nov. 30, Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president of Microsoft Windows and Devices division, announced the arrival of the full-fledged app at the Apple App Store and Google Play app marketplaces, along with a couple of new features. "We are committed to empowering people and organizations to achieve more".

Over the past month, Microsoft Edge has enjoyed a beta period across smartphone devices, with its focus being its "continue on PC" functionality.
