For a while Hearthstone saw two different types of updates, one was a much larger card-focused expansion, others were smaller narrative-focused events. During the convention Blizzard held their "Hearthstone: What's Next" presentation that showed off a multitude of new cards, mechanics, and a new single player mode for the game.
Tompson explained that releasing Adventures were holding back what some of the game had to offer in terms of new cards being added to the meta, and for those that never completed the Adventures fully, this prevented them from getting those cards. Lose and your run is over and you'll have to start all over again.
Dungeon Runs are a new mode with roguelike elements.
The good news is that Blizzard is giving away a few free packs and cards.More news: Jennifer Lawrence Explains Why She's Often 'Incredibly Rude' to Fans
Hearthstone's next big expansion, Kobolds and Catacombs, arrives next Friday, 8th December.
Immediately after release, players will receive one Legendary Weapon card and 3 Kobolds & Catacombs card packs free. Players will receive their FOR THE HOARD card back and packs as soon as their purchase is processed, and can break the seal on their card packs once Kobolds & Catacombs goes live.
Those daring enough to courageous the hazards and monstrosities of this subterranean realm will have ample chance to stuff their bags with awe-inspiring treasures in the form of 135 wondrous new cards!
Hearthstone is free-to-play on Android, iOS and PC.
