Notably, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact were the first smartphones to be released with Android 8.0 Oreo.

For both the devices, the software update carries with the build number 41.3.A.0.401. Since it is a major update and is quite hefty in terms of size, you will be able to download it only over a Wi-Fi connection and not the mobile data network. Make sure you have more than 1 GB free space for the update.

Along with all of this, Oreo also brings the latest November 2017 security patch to Xperia XZ and XZs.

Oreo should also soon be available for the Xperia X Performance.

The development team at Sony has ensured that Google is not the only company providing so much benefits to their users because they have incorporated some of their own features such as the Xperia Actions and Reminders which will add more value to those who opted for the Sony phone as they are company specific features.
