The trailer for the long awaited sequel to 2004's The Incredibles has been viewed over 113 million times, making it the most viewed trailer of an animated feature ever.

Jack-Jack and his incredible family are back.

While fans were clearly interested in seeing what Incredibles 2 had to offer, based on the numbers from Entertainment Weekly, the initial trailer didn't actually give us very much.

Aside from highlighting the infant's powers, the new installment to the family superhero franchise will reportedly focus on the adventures of Helen Parr, a.k.a. Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter). There is only one word to describe the popularity of The Incredibles 2 trailer, and that word is, spectacular.

Picking up where the original animated film left off, fans will get to see The Incredibles face another villain while Jack-Jack's super powers emerge. However, it was uncertain if a sequel would be released.

I love The Incredibles, and while apprehensive, I am excited for what Incredibles 2 could bring. "When a new villain hatches a brilliant and unsafe plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again - which is easier said than done, even when they're all Incredible".

In addition, "Incredibles 2", has been teased as something that was "taken to another level", so fans could expect better animation.

Incredibles 2 will be out in cinemas on 15 June 2018.

Of course, Bird also ventured into live-action filmmaking following his two Oscar wins, most notably as the helmer on the Tom Cruise blockbuster Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. "It's like driving a better vehicle", director Brad Bird said during D23 event in July this year.
