JIMMY Fallon paid tribute to his late mother as he returned to The Tonight Show following her death this month. Seated at a piano, Swift demanded attention with the introspective and emotional tune.

Fallon canceled last week's shows following the November 4 death of his mother, Gloria. Mom, Ill never stop trying to make you laugh.

Fallon then shared a attractive memory of going grocery shopping with his mother, and a special "I Love You" signal they shared right up until the very end of her life.

Referring to the line in the song about hand-squeezing, he added, "I almost gasped". Suddenly she sings the line, "Squeeze my hand 3 times in the back of the taxi".

Fallon producer Mike DiCenzo Tweeted about it, saying, "First, a quick word about Taylor Swift".

Gloria's advice? "Wash your hands after being near that Paris Hilton", she joked on the show. "She said yes with zero hesitation", he wrote.

"She wasn't allowed to leave her stoop in Brooklyn", the former "Saturday Night Live" star once told NY magazine.

"I could see Jimmy silhouetted at his desk dabbing his eyes with a tissue", he said. We all lost it. Ugh, look what you made us do, Taylor.

The 27-year-old songstress, dressed in a metallic hoodie for her close-up, shared a touching moment with the tearful host post-performance, as they embraced and she patted him on the back.

"That hug between Jimmy and Taylor after the song was 100 percent real emotion", he said.

You can read the full details here on DiCenzo's Twitter feed and watch the performance below. "Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something handsome for Jimmy and our show today, and we're forever grateful".

The host also told a story about his childhood, when his mom would squeeze his hand three times as she said, "I love you", and he would squeeze her hand back and say, "I love you, too".
