Rookie Ball makes triple-double history

The Cavaliers superstar previously held the record after notching his first triple-double in January 2005 at 20 years and 20 days old.

"My dad did call me but didn't give me much information", Lonzo said.

Lakers' rookie Lonzo Ball recorded a triple-double in the game, scoring 19 points, dishing out 13 assists, and snatching 11 rebounds. I just wanted to win tonight. Ball also tallied three blocked shots and three steals.

As aptly described by ESPN, Ball put on a passing clinic while playing against a team coached by Jason Kidd, the player the Lakers rookie has drawn most comparisons with.

Entering the matchup against the Bucks, Ball was averaging 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game, shooting just 29.2 percent from the field, as well as 22.0 percent from downtown.

Ball reached the milestone with 11:29 remaining in the fourth quarter, with his rebound of a missed Bucks shot being the rookie's 10th of the night. If he's getting triple-doubles in the summer league, he is going to get triple-doubles in the regular season.

NOTES: Lakers G Lonzo Ball said he spoke to his father, LaVar Ball, who told the Lakers' rookie to focus on his own work and not worry about his brother, LiAngelo, who was arrested for shoplifting along with two UCLA teammates in China.

"I didn't care about that". I am going to play my game. "Then obviously you throw the free throws on top, you still have your chances but you have to play a pretty flawless game besides that".
