First Lady Melania Trump visited the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu Friday.

In a statement issued at the conclusion of her trip to China, she thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan for their hospitality during the visit.

"This visit to China is something I will never forget", said First Lady Melania Trump. And whether her critics are calling her attire "inappropriate" or her fans are raving, it's safe to say she always makes an impression. Mrs Trump gives a gift to Chinese children.

"We did, we did".

In reflecting on her time as first lady, Melania Trump told CNN: "Well, it's my honor to be a first lady of the United States, and it was a very busy year". The piece was custom made for her (alterations included adding sleeves and a longer hemline), but a similar version retails for $2,475.

Exciting is an accurate description for Trump, who as a Slovenian immigrant and a former fashion model, likely never anticipated that one day she would be holding the iconic position.

She rode a cable vehicle to a watchtower, signed a guest book and strolled along a stretch of the wall for about half an hour with aides and security officers.

The US president and First Lady are on their third stop on the historic tour, having visited South Korea and Japan previously, but have already grabbed headlines for their interactions.
