The giraffe cam was on for 65 days to watch April's pregnancy, which lasted over 16 months. After months of anticipation, she gave birth in April to Tajiri, who is her fourth calf and first with fellow giraffe Oliver.
He also suggested that the park in upstate NY could be ready for another "giraffe cam".

The owner of the Animal Adventure Park said that he was positively surprised of the fact that the baby giraffe has grown healthy and everything went smoothly since he was born.

He says that if April does conceive, the camera will likely move to another exhibit until she gets further along in her pregnancy. Animal Adventure Park runs a live camera feed every day of the week between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET. He was named Tajiri, which means "hope" in Swahili. Patch said that April's son is nearly 10 feet tall and that April is an "amazing mother". But April is also letting Tajiri explore his surroundings, so that he can become as independent as his father is. He added that it was a blessing for Tajiri to progress in his growth, while also seeing hundreds of thousands of visitors, all of it was "remarkably easy and textbook".
