Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Expansion Pass, Day One Japanese Voice Pack Announced

Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Expansion Pass timeline. It'll be available for free from Thursday, November 9. It looks like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be upping the ante in that regard, with the file size to prove it. Towards the end of the video, we actually got a fun surprise for Breath of the Wild in the form of some crossover content from the huge JRPG.

A big news item involves the season pass (or "expansion pass") for the game, which will go for $29.99 and provide players with DLC that will launch between the December launch of the game and the fall of 2018.

The expansion pass adds a new challenge battle mode, new items and a brand new side-story.

The big news is that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be getting a full Expansion Pass (a first for the series).

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set for release on December 1, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Blades are artificial lifeforms that bond with Drivers to lend them their weapons and powers in battle. Main character Rex is a Driver and Pyra is a Blade. Other allies are designated as Support for each Driver, which come as either Tank, Attacker, or Healer, and help determine the Driver's class. Launching alongside the game is a themed Pro Controller for $75. Should they manage to defeat certain Unique Beasts, a tombstone will be left behind to commemorate the creature and allow players to relive those battles for additional rewards.

Also available to pre-order is the Special Edition of the game, which features a 220 page hardbound art book containing illustrated concept artwork of the title's characters, landscapes, and objects, a special metal game case, and a sound selection CD featuring memorable music tracks from the game.
