HMD Global has announced that it is launching a new version of the Nokia 5 phone in the country, which includes 3GB of RAM. As mentioned earlier, the phone also packs in 3GB of RAM to suffice all sorts of multitasking. It is exclusively sold online through to Flipkart starting tomorrow and will be available via offline retail stores starting November 14th. Apart from the RAM upgrade, the other specifications of the latest variant remain the same. Nokia 5 (3GB variant) will be available in matte black and tempered blue shades. HMD has priced the device at Rs 13,499. For those of you who are still unaware of this, the Nokia 5 arrived to India back in June this year, along with its Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 siblings. The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720x1280 pixels resolution. There is 3GB and 16GB internal memory that is further expandable up to 128GB. "Now we have added more memory so fans can get enhanced performance in the same precision engineered design". Coming to the camera capability, the device offers a 13 MP rear-facing camera with F/2.0 aperture and PDAF with 1080p video recording capability with an 8 MP selfie shooter with 720p video recording capability. For selfies, the Nokia 5 offers an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field-of-view.
It is also worthy to note that the Nokia 5 is dual SIM enabled with support for LTE and VoLTE. The smartphone runs a stock iteration of Android Nougat and is slated to get the Oreo update soon. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that should give at least a day-long battery life. One of the points we made in the review was in regards to only 2GB RAM on Nokia 5 and good to see that HMD is already listening to feedback.
