Weinstein has been hit with a string of accusations, including charges of molestation, and is the subject of cops investigations in London, Los Angeles, and NY.
While they did not identify Weinstein by name, London's Metropolitan Police said its officers were "investigating allegations of sexual assault from seven victims under Operation Kaguyak".
The news came just days after the British Film Institute stripped Weinstein of its highest honour, saying his alleged "appalling conduct" stands in opposition to the organisation's values.
At the October 16 meeting where Mr. Weinstein's expulsion proceedings were begun, the Guild's National Board committed to creating a task force to look into the entertainment industry's sexual harassment problem.More news: Netflix Suspends Production on House of Cards 'Indefinitely' After Kevin Spacey Allegations
Dozens of women, including actresses Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, have accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, while several others have accused the Oscar victor of raping them.
Weinstein has genuinely "unequivocally repudiated" all accusations of non-consensual sex and is suing his former workshop, The Weinstein Company, for access to his emails that he thinks contain details "vindicating" him.
In Britain, police are under an obligation to investigate certain types of allegations if they receive them.
In the United States, police in NY and Los Angeles have said they are investigating allegations of sexual assault against Weinstein.
