Microsoft Announces Surface Pro with LTE Advanced: Supports 20 LTE Bands Globally

The LTE version of Surface Pro will be based on Qualcomm X16 Gigabit Class LTE modem. There's no specifics on battery life yet, but this year's earlier Surface release promised 13.5 hours while watching video. According to Golik, Microsoft chose this particular modem in order to future-proof Surface Pro LTE, with support for Cat 9 LTE and 20 global LTE bands.

The most-affordable Surface Pro with a Core i5 processor can be had for $999, but there is also a beefier model that doubles the storage capacity and RAM (to 256GB and 8GB, respectively, from 128GB and 4GB) that costs $1,299. The office is no more restricted to some enclosed space rather it could be at home or at some café or at some city anywhere in the world or on some flight.
