Kate Beckinsale says Harvey Weinstein "couldn't remember" if he assaulted her

British actress Romola Garai tells the Guardian that she felt "violated" when Weinstein auditioned her as an 18-year-old, saying that he had answered the door to his hotel room in a bathrobe.

In a statement Thursday, guild President Beau Willimon and Executive Director Lowell Peterson condemned Harvey Weinstein's "deplorable" behavior and said that "sexual harassment and assault have always been hallmarks of the entertainment industry".

Revelations that the Hollywood mogul sexually harassed women for almost three decades prompted three of the company's nine board members to resign, according to The New York Times which broke the news in a bombshell report earlier this week.

Beckinsale recalls that a few years later Weinstein asked her if he had tried anything with her at the first meeting.

The avalanche of assault accusations against Harvey Weinstein grew as more actresses came forward with explosive charges against the movie mogul, whose lurid behavior has opened a Pandora's Box of Hollywood harassment and hypocrisy.

Cohen's letter to the board did not describe the contents of Harvey Weinstein's file, nor did it address whether Weinstein had entered into private settlements with women who complained of misconduct. Prime Minister Theresa May says a decision about the honour would not lie with Downing Street.

Another damaging report in The New Yorker this week included audio of Weinstein appearing to confess to sexual assault of Filipina-Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez in 2015.
