Michelle Rounds, ex-wife of Rosie O'Donnell, dies age 46


According to TMZ, Michelle Rounds, ex-wife of entertainer Rosie O'Donnell, was found dead in her home on Monday in an apparent suicide.

O'Donnell told us in a statement, "I am saddened to hear about this awful tragedy". Mental illness is a very serious problem that affects many families.

Rounds and O'Donnell were married for more than three years between 2012 and 2015.

Rosie and Michelle had a secret wedding in 2012, after they moved up the date following Michelle's diagnosis of desmoid tumours; noncancerous growths that occur in the connective tissue. She attended college at the State University of NY at New Paltz where she graduated cum laude.

O'Donnell filed for divorce from Rounds in February 2015, citing an "irretrievably broken relationship".

O'Donnell also retweeted a fan's message offering support and information on suicide prevention Friday.

Despite her efforts to spread awareness, O'Donnell received comments from social media users blaming her for her ex-wife's death, claiming the former View host kept their 4-year-old daughter Dakota away from Rounds. This was not the first time Rounds attempted to take her own life.
