A major fire broke out in the famed RK Studios in Chembur here on Saturday afternoon, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Disaster Control officials said. A source exclusively revealed to us that the sets of Super Dancer 2 has been destroyed completely. Though not used much, all hell broke loose at the studio earlier today when a fire engulfed one area within the studio.
The fire was reported around 1422 hrs and could be controlled only post 1700 hrs. There was no crew on the set at the time of incidence. The building has also been evacuated.
RK Studio premises that also houses RK Films, the production company of the Kapoor-khandaan located off the VN Purav Marg, is one of the most prominent addresses of Bollywood.More news: MI teacher assaults student for not standing during pledge
The massive fire break out at RK Studios had the internet and half of the country talking about it. 6 fire engines and 5 water tanks were called immediately to stop the fire from spreading but sadly, there was a lot of property damage. "All your concerns appreciated", the 65-year-old actor tweeted.
Hall 1 of the studio has been charred in the blaze. Luckily, there have been no casualties or injuries. We hope that we will be able do the needful by then and get the set ready.
The busy area witnessed traffic snarl as fire tenders, water tankers and several ambulances were rushed to the site, an eyewitness said. Hard to see history in flames.
