Antonio Conte To Resist Belgium Call Up For Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko have given Chelsea a boost by taking part in a friendly against Queens Park Rangers.

Hazard's ankle complaint arrived whilst on worldwide duty with Belgium back in June, whereas Bakayoko came to Stamford Bridge from Monaco with a knee injury, and is yet to feature for the club.

Conte said on Friday at his weekly news briefing that Bakayoko could be in contention to feature for the Blues in their trip to Wembley to take on Spurs, although the manager conceded that he is not at his peak fitness level yet. "We must be focused on the pitch on the game and to try and do our best and not find an excuse", Conte told a press conference. He is not at the top of his physical condition but I think he could be in contention because in this moment I don't have other midfielders available.

"It's not easy. We must be strong to face this situation".

Bakayoko is believed to have played in a behind-closed doors friendly in midweek and Conte says that with his midfield options decimated, he may be forced to rush the French worldwide in to action on Sunday.

Having struck out on several attempts to strengthen his squad while selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, Conte is short of midfield options. At the moment some players are not 100 per cent fit.

"[Alvaro] Morata is another player who needs to continue to work to improve to find the right physical condition".

Bakayoko is still to make his debut for Chelsea since his £40million move from Monaco this summer due to an ongoing knee problem.

'About Pedro, today he trained with us and he felt pain in his ankle. "It could force me to take a hard decision, because in this moment some players are not 100 per cent in their physical condition", he said. I have to face a hard situation. "It's a hard situation, I don't know if he's available for the bench or not on Sunday".

"I am concerned, but only I am anxious when you try to put the players out very soon, the risk to have an injury is very high".
