Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan turns to Bollywood, to debut alongside Irrfan Khan

The latest update reveals that the actor signed his first Bollywood movie which will be produced by top filmmaker Ronnie Screwvala. OK Kanmani was dubbed in Telugu as OK Bangaru and remade in Hindi as OK Jaanu staring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. Fans are excited to see Dulquer and Irrfan as both of them are powerhouse performers in their respective films. The interesting fact about the movie is that it will also star Irrfan Khan and is reported to be a comedy. Mithila Palkar from the popular web series, Girl In The City and Little Things, will portray the female lead in the film.

The Bollywood film, directed by Akash Khurrana, is said to be a light hearted entertainer, with Dulquer playing a boy from Bengaluru.

Scriptwriter Akarsh Khurana makes his directorial debut with this yet-untitled movie, that he has written along with Hussain Dalal (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States). According to recent reports, the film is scheduled to go on floor by the end of August and it will extensively be shot in Kerala. Abhishek Bachchan was originally supposed to play Salmaan's role, but he chose JP Dutta's war film Paltan instead. All in all, Mammootty could not find much success in Bollywood.

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming film, Solo is slated to be released in September. Then there are also Parava, directed by Soubin Shahir and a movie with Anjali Menon.
