Gabriel Jesus hopes competition with Sergio Aguero will benefit Man City

Many pundits have made City their preseason favourites but, ahead of their Premier League opener at Brighton on Saturday, Guardiola does not feel under any more strain to deliver silverware.

How will Pep Guardiola handle the pressure in his second season in charge of Man City?

Manchester City will travel to Brighton at 16:30GMT. "People say in my first press conference we are favourites".

The Seagulls were impressive in the first three friendly games scoring 11 and conceding none, but then failed to beat Norwich City and Girona, and, unsurprisingly, lost to Atletico Madrid in their last test before Manchester City. "It's getting much harder for everyone, so we don't know".

"It shows a real intent to want to be the best they can, win the title and ultimately of course it's about the Champions League as well". Brighton are an unknown quantity as this is their first outing in the Premier League, but they were a well-disciplined, organised side with quality in attacking areas on their way to promotion glory. We are here to win the games and titles.

Danilo is a bit more defensive minded than Mendy and Walker but is still very good at keeping possession and holding onto the ball, which will suit City well when they are dominating possession and trying to break down their opponent. But I think it is unsustainable. Debates can get heated and that's fine, but offensive words will get you banned. Everyone has witnessed the way a Guardiola team can play when Pep has the right players and everyone understands the tactics, as Guardiola has won the Champions League twice with Barcelona and has steamrolled the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich three times.

With Man City spending around £202m on first team players and an astonishing £159m spent exclusively on defenders and goalkeepers, it would appear that Pep Guardiola finally has the right back line and goalie at City.

"Like every club that´s promoted to the Premier League, it´s to finish 17th or higher".

"I'm here to score goals and be the focal point of the team", Lukaku said. I'm not going to say we are going to play all the season in that system, we are going to play different systems, but the fundamentals will be the same. "We can, but maybe we won't", Mourinho told ESPN in a recent interview. When I am not playing or training, I watch football all the time. "I am pleased with the business City have done in the transfer window so far".

Everybody knows that Guardiola's game big time depends on full backs so it's no wonder that City spent nearly £150m on Kyle Walker, Benjamind Mendy and Danilo, while other two signings are potent midfielder Bernardo Silva and Primeira Liga's best goalkeeper Ederson. But we can not forget that when we do something better than last season it's because we've been one year together.
