Five attempts were made to stop PDP convention - Makarfi


Darius Ishaku, Gombe state, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwanbo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Rear Admiral, John Jonah, Deputy Governor of Cross River state, Professor Ivara Esu, Deputy Governor of Ebonyi state, Dr. Eric Kelechi Igwe, National Vice Chairmen, State Chairmen, Party stalwarts and other leaders of the PDP nationwide.

He expressed optimism about the future of the party saying "I am impressed with the renewed enthusiasm and commitment of our members towards rebuilding the party after the protracted leadership tussle".

"It is time for self examination for all of us and to return to what is right bearing in mind our mistakes in the past. Such persons should not remain in office as members of the caretaker committee for more than three months", he said.

"Another review committee was also set up to study the report of the constitution review committee and make recommendations".

"Let all presidential aspirants from the 19 states of the North be subjected to one primaries; whereas, all national chairmanship candidates from the 17 states of the South also be subjected to one primary to contest together, so as to produce the best candidate, to practicalise democracy", he added.
