I am committing suicide out of my own volition., police said quoting Pandeys handwritten note found on the body. "I am committing suicide in district center area of Janakpuri in west Delhi...by jumping off the 10th floor of the building". I am fed up with my life.
Pandey also wrote that he was staying at the Lila Palace (hotel) in room Number 742. "I am sorry. I love you all! pleas forgive me!"
Delhi Police on learning about the suicide plans of the Buxar DM rushed to the mention site but the IAS officer had left the location before cops could get hold of him.
His body was recovered from the railway tracks at around 9 pm by a team of the Government Railway Police (GRP). "I strongly suspect that Mukesh Pandey had not committed suicide but was murdered". Though police went into action immediately to track him, they could not prevent the incident.

A suicide note, purse and identity card of the deceased was recovered from the spot.
He sent a WhatsApp message to a relative saying that he is going to jump off from the 10th floor of a building in Delhi's Janakpuri. He then flew to New Delhi on Thursday morning via Varanasi. Sources said it was a big fat marriage but the couple had never been happy.
He further confirmed, "There was nothing unusual about him when we last met on Wednesday evening during the Prime Minister's video conference with the cabinet secretary, chief secretaries and district magistrates of the country".
Pandey was married in 2014 into a prominent business family that owned a vehicle showroom in Patna.
