"We have higher goals than that and we hope to achieve those, but we have to go out there and prove it", sixth-year head coach Pete Cuadrado said of the preseason ranking in a release.

The Hawaii women's volleyball team is ranked No. 20 in the AVCA Coaches Division I Preseason Top 25 today, the lowest ranking for a Rainbow Wahine team since 1993.

After being unanimously selected to finish atop the ACC last week, the UNC volleyball team debuted at No. 11 in the AVCA preseason poll released on Wednesday.

This marks the fourth time in five seasons that the bluejays have earned a spot in the preseason poll.

Texas is No. 1 and followed by defending national champion Stanford, Washington, Minnesota and Nebraska.

UNC is the only ACC school among the top 25.

Baylor and Boise State, also on the 2017 schedule, are receiving votes with 37 and 21 points, respectively.

The Huskers, who finished 31-3 last year and reached the NCAA semifinals for a second straight year, will open the season against No. 18 OR at the VERT Challenge in Gainesville, Florida on Friday, Aug. 25.
