Sega has delayed the PC version of Sonic Mania from its previously planned August 15 release date to August 29 in order to apply further optimizations, Sega announced.
Sonic Mania celebrates the best of Classic Sonic, pushing the envelope forward with stunning 60 FPS gameplay and pixel-perfect physics, and will feature a split-screen multiplayer competitive mode. This puts it a couple of weeks back on the console releases, with the game still due to launch on August 15, 2o17 for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One users.
Also, during the special announcement live stream the presenters, which included Sonic Team creative director, Kazuyuki Hoshino and the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog on Twitter and meme mastermind Aaron Webber, revealed that certain copies of the collector's edition will be signed by members of the Sonic Team.
So if you want to see early footage of the game we're sure it's floating around the Internet somewhere.
Sonic Mania Delayed on PC
What's really interesting is that the PC Collector's Edition of Sonic Mania will still ship out on August 15th.

Sonic Mania is a brand new Sonic the hedgehog title that takes the classic Sonic experience and adds new elements and exciting surprises. The game is scheduled to launch later this month.
