Speaking on BBC Breakfast this morning, Gemma said: "It's insane, you only live once so you have to challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone!"
The most recent contestant announcement comes after Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford was revealed as the third participant following news of the former Saturdays singer Mollie King and EastEnders star Davood Ghadami.
"I am more likely to fit in a show like Gladiators, but that's why I wanted to do it, it's a challenge", she explained. She said: 'When I woke up it was all over my bed!' Speaking on BBC breakfast Gemma admitted she felt "really bad" having to lie to her loved ones when rumours that she could take part started to emerge, as the only person she was allowed to tell was her mum.
Bosses are planning to release the line up in dribs and drabs over the next few weeks as it's believed they've "almost" secured all of the celebrity stars they want this year.
