Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha movie story, review, and rating


Official trailer of the film was released about a month ago and the theatrical two minute video received millions of views on YouTube. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha carries forward the good work Khiladi Kumar has been doing for a while, entertains you and leaves with a thumping message.

It is a satirical comedy film which is inspired by PM Narendra Modi let Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a governmental campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India, with emphasis on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of India.

Box office India predicts that the film will get 'decent opening.' The report states that opening day collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is likely to be between Rs 12-15 crore, which is similar to Akshay's past releases - Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom and Jolly LLB 2. Hitting 600 screens in overseas, the multi-starrer offering performed outstandingly in the foreign countries. So Toilet: Ek Prem Katha managed a total of 3590 screen space. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is slated to release on May 11, 2018. Akshay plays Keshav while Bhumi features as Jaya, his wife. The TEPK film got positive reviews from film critics and audience.

Akshay's comic timing here is remarkable, and his cracking of jokes with Divyendu Sharma is chucklesome.

The film deals with the issue of open defecation in India with 58% of Indian facing the problem. Also, her choices of films are apt and "Toilet" is one such film after her big Bollywood debut in "Dum Laga Ke Haisha".

This is Bhumi Pendekar's second film and she pulls off her character easily.

Akshay and Bhumi arrive for the screening. However, the repetitiveness may hamper Toilet: Ek Prem Katha's impact.
