Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Version 1.2.1 Now Available For Download

The first event was launched in 1990 in the Fair Park's Automobile Building in Dallas, Texas, which visited twenty-nine cities in the United States.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available globally now for the Switch.

Qualifying events will be held in 8 cities across the United States starting with NY and San Francisco on August 19 and 20. Only one thing has been improved in this new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update. Based on the player's age, they will either be racing on Luigi's Mansion (12 and under) or Bowser's Castle 1 (13 and above). One victor from each age bracket will qualify for an invitation to the final event.

Outside of the qualifying race, gamers who attend the event can play Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch and Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS.

While at the qualifying locations, fans will also get the chance to play other upcoming Nintendo titles.

It looks like Nintendo intends to make its World Championships event a regular affair, having previously hosted just two - one in 1990 and another for the 25th anniversary in 2015.

While it's not a massive update, it's comforting to know that Nintendo is working towards making the game a more enjoyable experience all the same. Only 90 copies of the gray cartridge have been known to exist and another 26 in gold.

After making a spectacular comeback at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Nintendo seems to want to keep the hype up as recent reports reveal that the Nintendo World Championship will return this year.
