LG Electronics' upcoming V30 smartphone will have an f/1.6 aperture lens for one of its dual cameras on the back, the company has confirmed.
The rear dual-camera module seems to have a slight bump, which indicates that this camera will pack some serious tricks underneath. The smartphone is also made of glass, which is a first for the V series smartphones. LG notes that the V30's main camera will include an f/1.6 lens, allowing 25% more light than cameras with an f/1.8 lens. An aperture of f/1.6 is already pretty rare even among DSLRs and digital cameras, so seeing it on a smartphone is definitely an achievement. More than just a premium material, clear glass is able to collect light better than plastic and therefore reproduces color more accurately as well. Not only that, but LG thinks an accompanying special Crystal Clear lens will bring more "vivid images than ever before". "Paired with LG's specialized UX featuring laser detection AF, optical image stabilisation and electronic image stabilisation, shutterbugs will find the V30 as easy and convenient to use as its predecessor".
