Joe Biden's 'American Promise Tour' to stop in Austin

A Year of Hope, Hardship, and objective, ' will be released by Flatiron Books on November 14, with the title coming from an emotional conversation the Vice President had with his son during their final Thanksgiving together.

The book tour is billed as a series of conversations that go beyond the 24-hour news cycle and 140-character arguments to connect friends and neighbors around topics that matter. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the December 13 event, and all ages are welcome.

The 19-city nationwide American Promise Tour will launch on November 13, and includes a stop at Nantucket's Mary P. Walker Auditorium on Saturday, November 25 at 5 pm.

Tickets for the appearance go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 28, though Proctors members and subscribers will have access to a pre-sale beginning Tuesday at 10 a.m.

At last year's Miami Book Fair, the impossible ticket to get was the one that got you in to see 2016 presidential hopeful Sen.

Prices range from $50-$150, Eck said.

The visit is part of a concerted effort to bring more big-name speakers to the theater, Eck said.

The announcement of his speaking tour coincided with the release of an op-ed the former vice president wrote in the Washington Post assailing the Republican-led effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

"A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose", Biden's book delves into a deeply personal story of mourning, coping and pain since the death of his son Beau from brain cancer in 2014, The Times reported. "I still count myself lucky".

The book will be published by Flatiron Books and is expected out November 14.
