IPhone 8 design reportedly 'confirmed'

The report says that output at Foxconn and Pegatron is not yet at a level to be considered mass production, rebutting some previous reports that the supply chain for the LCD iPhones was already in full swing.

If the new iPhone with an OLED screen launches in October, none of the sales will be counted in Apple's September quarter, which could be weaker than what Wall Street is expecting.

Only "small volumes" are expected by the Economic Daily News to ship "initially", so basically, the vast majority of prospective iPhone 8 buyers would be left without a hot new handset for the duration of the holiday season. That's about 1-2 months later than normal. Equities analysts forecast that Apple will post $8.92 EPS for the current fiscal year.

Reports, rumours, images and renders about the upcoming tenth anniversary iPhone have been circulating around the internet for months now and point towards a the biggest ever iPhone update with all new design, an OLED display, wireless charging, 3D cameras and more.

Its customary for Apple to include at least two or three major new features in each iteration of the iPhone, and a bunch of potential tweaks and additions have been mooted in the tech press.

Rumours are rife that the USA technology giant is planning to include some fresh new features on the iPhone 8 with the device expected to come packed with a new AMOLED display that will cover the entire front of the smartphone. (NASDAQ:AAPL) saw its shares gain in morning trade in NY, after Morgan Stanley raised its price target for the USA tech giant despite delays to the launch of its next generation iPhone 8.

However, issues with the circuit board for the iPhone 8 have apparently put such a squeeze on production schedules that one Taiwanese partner has pulled out of its deal with Apple.

Forbes' Gordon Kelly got an exclusive look into the iPhone 8 and based on the CAD files for the device that he managed to obtain from well-known iPhone case designer Nodus, the next flagship smartphone from Apple will feature a vertical dual-camera setup.

Despite all the troubles that Apple is reportedly going through for the iPhone 8, there is no assurance that the smartphone will be able to live up to the massive hype that it has generated. This also raises the question about what kind of play in the AR space that Apple could have up their sleeve.
