Chelsea Keen On Sergio Aguero

Chelsea have registered their interest in Sergio Aguero and are ready to make a move to sign the Argentine, who has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City.

The Argentina worldwide is regarded as one of the Premier League's best strikers, scoring an impressive 169 goals in 253 appearances for the Sky Blues after joining from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.

They wanted Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian instead joined Manchester United from Everton for a fee of £75million.

It is hardly surprising the Sky Blues are reportedly not open to selling Aguero, especially not to a direct rival, as he is one of the best strikers in Europe.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak was asked in May if Aguero would remain at the club and he said: "Absolutely". We are a team that aspires to win every competition we compete in.

The Blues will try to sign a striker this summer to replace Diego Costa, who has been told he is not in Antonio Conte's plans for next season.

However, his future seemed in doubt towards the end of the season after Gabriel Jesus impressed following his move from Palmeiras, usurping Aguero in City's first choice starting team under manager Pep Guardiola.

But it remains to be seen whether Manchester City would be prepared to sell the prolific striker to Premier League title rivals in the shape of Chelsea.

"My information is they do not want to sell Sergio Aguero".
